About
foultip
foultip.gg is a free daily MLB trivia site. 16 games, a new puzzle in each of them every day at midnight Eastern, and nothing to sign up for.
It is the baseball member of a family of three: airball.gg does the NBA and sacked.gg does the NFL. They share a design, a set of formats and a stubborn preference for puzzles that are hard because the sport is interesting rather than because the answer is obscure.
Scored in baseball's own language
The through-line here is that a result should read like something off a scorecard rather than an X out of Y. Career Path is a plate appearance: name the player off one club and you have hit a home run, and every extra stint you unlock walks you down a base. The Grid gives you a batting line. Pitch Clock counts strikeouts. You spend outs, not lives.
Where the numbers come from
Major League Baseball's own public statistics API. That is every player who has appeared in a major-league game since 1871, all 23,593 of them, with their clubs season by season, their awards and their career totals.
It includes the Negro Leagues, which MLB recognised as major leagues in 2020 and now publishes through the same API as everything else. Josh Gibson, Turkey Stearnes and the Homestead Grays are here alongside everybody else, under the club names they actually played for. Some career records therefore differ from the numbers a fan may remember: Gibson is MLB's career batting-average leader at .372. That is correct, not a bug.
What we do not do
No invented quotes, storylines or statistics, for any player, anywhere on the site. Where a game shows a number it came from the record. Where a game estimates something — how well known a player is, say — it says so in those words rather than dressing the estimate up as a survey.
Get in touch
Corrections, bug reports and anything the record says we got wrong: support@foultip.gg. A wrong answer in a puzzle is worth reporting — every one of them is checkable against the record, so if a game disagrees with you, one of us is wrong and we would like to know which.
Not an official MLB site
