One question and a running clock. Every player you name who answers it goes down as a strikeout and buys you five more seconds. A wrong guess costs nothing but the time you spent typing it — this is the only game here that does not spend outs, so type freely. The clock starts at a hundred seconds and is sized to the length of the list, so a long question is not a shorter game. Bank enough time and a run does not have to end.
Strategy & tips
- Type the names you are sure of as fast as you can. Each one buys five seconds, so a hot start funds the whole round.
- Do not stop to think. A wrong guess is free, and hesitating is the only thing that actually costs you.
- Surnames are usually enough. The game accepts one when it identifies exactly one answer.
- If you beat five seconds a name, the clock never runs out — that is what the bonus is sized for.
About MLB Pitch Clock
MLB has had a real pitch clock since 2023, so the name is not a pun the sport has to be talked into. A pitcher's line is counted in strikeouts, which is what the score already was. The clock scales with how many answers the day's question has, because a flat clock would make the score measure the draw rather than the player.

How long is the clock?
At least a hundred seconds, more when the day's list is long, and it never banks past three minutes however well you are doing.
What does a strikeout mean here?
One correct answer. The final score is read as a pitcher's line — twelve K, and so on — and the round ends with the milestone a commentator would call: struck out the side, twenty punchouts, every batter faced.
Are answers outside the scored list accepted?
Yes. A player who genuinely answers the question but sits below the bar the list is drawn at still counts and still banks five seconds. Under a clock, being told no for a right answer costs twice.
